Until 28 August, Fontainebleau Loisirs Culture is running holiday workshops at the Maison des Associations: creativity, discovery and self-expression.

Until 8 August, the artfontainebleau gallery is exhibiting ‘Fragola de la Vega’: a black-and-white world illuminated by red moons, somewhere between mythology and childhood memories.

Until 5 September, the Institut Matis is exhibiting paintings, sculptures and drawings by Vincent Mulet. Free admission, right in the centre of Fontainebleau.

Until 12 September, the Kelly Arty gallery is exhibiting the work of Berthet One: a comic-book artist, painter and sculptor, and a leading figure in urban art known for his vibrant colours.

Until 30 August, the Maison des Artisans d’Art is exhibiting Marie-France Degueldre’s porcelain buttons, including a collection of cameos featuring a portrait of Rosa Bonheur.

On Sunday 23 August at 9.30 am, Fontainebleau will mark the 82nd anniversary of its liberation on the forecourt of the Town Hall. The ceremony is open to all.

Sunday 16 August, from 9am to 5pm: a flea market and antiques fair on Place Napoléon Bonaparte in Fontainebleau. Antique furniture, vintage décor and works of art.

On Sunday 30 August at 10.45 am, Bois-le-Roi will commemorate its liberation on 23 August 1944 in front of the 23 August Memorial. The ceremony is open to all.

From 28 to 30 August, five free open-air performances in the park at Bois-le-Roi Town Hall, including a one-man show by Christophe Alévêque. No booking required.

On Sunday 30 August, from 4 pm to 6 pm, Avon will be celebrating its patron saint of gardeners: there will be a procession from the media centre to the Bel-Ébat community vegetable garden, followed by afternoon tea at the manor house.

On Saturday 29 August, from 2 pm to 8 pm, the cyclists will be racing around a 930-metre circuit in the Vallée neighbourhood of Avon. This is a stage of the Mini-Tour 77.

Every Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm until 26 August, the Bel-Ébat open-air café in Avon is hosting a free concert. Bossa nova, samba and Latin jazz are on the programme for August.

Four days of show jumping at the Grand Parquet, from 30 July to 2 August. Professionals, amateurs, clubs and ponies all competing on the same courses. Free entry.

The second summer edition of Fontainebleau by Cottard at the Grand Parquet, from 6 to 9 August, featuring the TOP 7 events. Free entry.

On 30 August, Fontainebleau’s patron saint’s day celebrations will take over the château’s Grand Canal: pedalos, water jousting, a brass band and a picnic in the open air, with everyone dressed in white and gold, from 10am to 9pm.

From 28 August to 6 September, the Grande Semaine will bring together 1,850 young horses at the Grand Parquet, across two rounds: the Libre from 28 to 30 August, and the Classique from 1 to 6 September. Free entry.

From 19 to 23 August, the Grand Parquet will host So'Pony, a major event in the world of French sport ponies: five days of finals, championships and competitions. Free entry.

Eleven stage costumes designed by Christian Lacroix, inspired by Marie-Antoinette, will be on display throughout the château’s tour route all summer. Included in the admission price.

Every Thursday and Saturday throughout the summer, the château is open to visitors after dark: slumbering gardens, secret rooms and a courtly atmosphere. A completely different experience from a daytime visit.

L'Esquisse is hosting a new exhibition devoted to Edmond Verstraeten (1870-1956), the Flemish luminist painter. A plunge into the light and landscapes of Flanders, free admission from 2 April to 28 September 2026.

The year 2026 is dedicated to Marie-Antoinette at the château. Write a letter to the sovereign in a dedicated space and immerse yourself in 240 years of history.
