Two craftspeople, two materials, and the same attention to detail for things we no longer notice. The House of Artisans of the Fontainebleau Region, on Rue Royale, is hosting an exhibition this autumn featuring sculptures by’Ivan Loncle and the cyanotypes by Kala Crafts.
Under the name of Créaturquoise, During his walks, Ivan Loncle gathers fragments of nature: driftwood, shells, seeds, shards of earthenware. He carves them, inks them and adorns them with 18-carat gold leaf, then displays them under glass domes, in tubes or in selected frames, in the style of a cabinet of curiosities. The poster shows one of these flowers: a dark, crescent-shaped pod, speckled with gold, standing upright on its stem.
Behind Kala Artisanat is Katia Latappy, who works on the cyanotype on paper, wood and fabric. This old photographic technique produces this deep blue so distinctive, from which silhouettes, foliage and gazes emerge.
The shop is open from Wednesday to Saturday, 10.00 am to 7.00 pm and the Sunday from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. The exhibition ends on Sunday 1 November: there are still a few days left to enjoy it. More information at the website of the Maison des Artisans d’art in Fontainebleau.
A few words are enough, I reply personally.
