«A man thirsting for adventure and filled with rage is dying of heat in the back of an African boat.» Thus begins «Colonel Barbaque», text by Laurent Gaudé, winner of the Prix Goncourt for The Scortas' Sun, that Vincent Barraud performs solo on stage at the’Âne Vert Théâtrethe Saturday 14 November at 7.30 pm and the Sunday 15 November at 5.00 pm.
A soldier nearing the end of his military career, whose memories come flooding back and for whom words become the only weapon against oblivion. Critics have hailed him as an actor who is «as much a storyteller as an actor, as much a narrator as a performer», who delivers a dense script without ever making it feel heavy. A one-man show of the kind that the Âne Vert knows how to stage, bringing the performance as close as possible to the audience.
