A handmade bowl tastes better when you’re drinking hot soup from it. That’s the spirit of From the soil to the bowl, the ceramics market established in 2024 by the collective PaPoTerie 77, who is returning to Samois-sur-Seine for his 3rd edition, marked by the gesture. Last year, the second edition combined ceramics and coffee.
Over two days, local potters will be showcasing their work: bowls, cups, porcelain and stoneware. Throughout the event, visitors can to sample soups at lunchtime, with drinks and treats. A simple and welcoming way to discover traditional crafts and, why not, take home a handmade Christmas present.
On Saturday, a A quick chat about enamels starts at 11.00 am, followed by a modelling workshop at 2 pm and a talk on the porcelain at 4 pm. On Sundays, there’s room for two sound and movement performances (11.00 am and 3.00 pm), a talk on sigillata ware at 2.00 pm and another modelling workshop at 4.00 pm. The workshops are suitable for all ages.
