On 13 July, Fontainebleau celebrates Bastille Day with a military parade – a rare sight in the Île-de-France region – vintage vehicles, historical re-enactments and an evening picnic with live music at Place de la République.

On 4 July, an open-air picnic followed by a fancy dress ball in the château’s English garden, in the spirit of Marie-Antoinette. 18th-century dances, boats and a light show.

On 19 and 20 June, the FLC is staging its end-of-year shows at the Théâtre de Fontainebleau: two evenings of musical theatre and dance, based on *Chicago*, with a different programme each night.

From 30 June to 25 July, the Château de Fontainebleau is hosting the American Art Schools Festival: concerts, masterclasses and guided tours of the Chapel of the Trinity, the Ballroom and the Hall of Columns.

On 21 June, Fontainebleau’s pedestrianised town centre will become an open-air stage. Free concerts will run until midnight, with Kiara Jones headlining at Place Franklin Roosevelt at 7 pm.

Throughout the summer, ensembles of students from America’s leading music schools give free concerts in the squares of Fontainebleau and at the Church of Saint-Louis. Perfect for a lunchtime break.

Four days of international showjumping at the Grand Parquet, from CSI2* to amateur events, with an exhibitors' village and bar to extend the evenings. Free entry from 25 to 28 June.

Sand, tackles and a summery atmosphere on the edge of the forest: Beach'Bleau returns to the Grand Parquet on 20 June, with a qualifying tournament for the French Championships and a leisure tournament open to all.

Two days dedicated to the most elegant of equestrian breeds: the Thoroughbred Arabians parade in hand before a specialist jury at the Grand Parquet on 13 and 14 June. Admission free.

The Routes 77 club is transforming the Grand Parquet into a car paddock on 13 June, with car christenings, Gendarmerie and fire brigade vehicles to get up close to, food trucks and solidarity.
