Presentation

Every year, the’School for Parents and Educators in South Seine-et-Marne (EPE 77 Sud) is organising, in conjunction with the City, its public lecture. The theme for 2026 resonates with just about everyone: «Growing up, loving, becoming a parent. The vital role of attachment». Or how the bonds formed in our early years shape the way we love and, later, bring up our own children.

An expert in early bonding

The speaker, Joanna Smith, is clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. She practised adult psychiatry for around fifteen years before setting up her own private practice, where she specialises in the treatment of trauma, including attachment injuries and very early-life trauma. She is the author of numerous books published by Dunod, including Discovering your inner child and, in 2024, Protecting your child from sexual abuse. She also gave a lecture TEDx in Nantes on the weight of the The first 1,000 days of life in our mental health.

The event is being held in the The City Hall’s Reception Room. It is aimed at adults, whether you’re a parent or a family support professional: this isn’t the sort of outing you should go on with the children.

Free admission, but places are limited and Registration is essential, on the page for the EPE 77 Sud public lecture, by email to [email protected] or on 06 51 55 37 07.
