There are some writers we read, and others we would have liked to watch writing. Colette is one of those. With «Colette: The Irresistible Urge to Write», the actress Nathalie Prokhoris takes us into his den, amidst the pages that have been written, crossed out, discarded and then revisited, so that we may witness the birth of a vocation. It is at the’Âne Vert Théâtrethe Saturday 21 November at 7.30 pm and the Sunday 22 November at 5.00 pm.
In a one-woman show based on the writings of Colette, Nathalie Prokhoris returns to the source that never ran dry for the author: childhood. Behind the much-loved figure of Sido, his mother, the more secretive and enigmatic figure of his father gradually comes into focus, the Captain Jules Colette. The words are jumbled together, grappled with eagerly, and that is the whole pleasure of the show: seeing a piece of writing find its form right before our eyes. Aligre FM summed it up in a single phrase: «A show where refinement is the watchword».
Directed and performed by Nathalie Prokhoris, acting director of Christine Culerier. In Paris, where it was staged at the À la Folie Théâtre during the 2024–2025 season, the show was billed as lasting just over an hour and was recommended for ages 13 and over. And for those who have developed a taste for Colette, the Âne Vert is returning there at the end of the season with Darling, showing at the end of May.

A few words are enough, I reply personally.
