Route de l’Ermitage, the gymnase Lucien Martinel is one of Fontainebleau’s municipal sports facilities. During the week, it is a hive of activity with clubs and school groups; on some weekends, it hosts competitions that attract athletes from all over France.

A club gym

Like most of the city’s sports halls, Martinel is primarily a training ground for the Bellifontaine sports clubs : team sports, martial arts, gymnastics, children’s activities. If you’re looking for somewhere to enrol your children at the start of the new school year, there’s a good chance that one of the clubs listed here will be the right one.

National competitions in Fontainebleau

The sports hall also hosts proper competitions, such as the French Wushu Sanda Light Cup, which brings together fighters from all over the country. A rare opportunity to watch top-class sport just a few minutes from the city centre.
