Cinema for those who love cinema

Fontainebleau has two cinemas. The CinéParadis multiplex in the Halle de Villars, and then there's l'Ermitage, at 6 rue de France, just a stone's throw from the château. Five screens, a carefully-curated programme, and that special atmosphere of city cinemas with a soul. It's a arthouse cinema, which means you'll find films here that you won't see anywhere else in the area.

What we see

The programme combines arthouse films, documentaries, international cinema in VOSTFR and a few outings for the general public. L'Ermitage is part of the Europa Cinemas, This gives it access to European works that are rarely seen in cinemas. Fans of original version will be delighted.

In addition to traditional screenings, the cinema regularly organises film-debatesand previews and meetings with directors. The Hermitage also hosts screenings as part of the Art History Festival, an annual event held at the château.

A family cinema

L'Ermitage is managed by the Reynaud family, which also runs CinéParadis. It's a story of passionate people: the venue has retained a traditional feel, far removed from the big commercial circuits. Tickets can be bought online or direct from the cinema.
