Le cinéma l'Ermitage in Fontainebleau is offering a one-off screening on Friday 27 March 2026 at 9pm of the documentary «Yukon, the call of the wild», followed by a discussion with the audience.
The film tells the story of Mathieu Blanchard, a well-known French ultra-trail runner. In February 2025, he set off alone to cross the Yukon, He will be trekking across this immense territory in north-western Canada, on foot, semi-autonomously, in polar temperatures. His aim is not victory or performance, but a plunge into the unknown, a face-to-face encounter with raw nature and with himself.
The documentary captures the icy beauty of the landscape, the solitude of the walker and the resilience needed to keep going when everything is calling for a halt. It's an invitation to travel and to introspect, and one that will speak volumes to outdoor enthusiasts in the Fontainebleau region.
Single screening, Friday 27 March at 9pm, at the Cinéma l'Ermitage, 8 Rue de France, Fontainebleau.
