Le Richelieu is one of those hotels in Bellifont that is like no other. Set in a former annex to the Château de Fontainebleau, at 4 rue Richelieu, he faces the Municipal theatre and is just a few steps from the Cour des Adieux. The building itself bears the imprint of this royal proximity: we are staying in what was once an outbuilding of the palace, and this connection can be felt in the proportions of the rooms and the thickness of the walls. It's a small 17 rooms which cultivates a discreet charm, far removed from the standardised channels.
A vintage-industrial setting opposite the Château
The decor is in stark contrast to what you would expect from a former royal building. The Richelieu has chosen a style vintage and industrial which gives the rooms a contemporary feel without betraying the soul of the place. Each room is different, from Comfort at Family (queen-size bed + sofa bed + single bed). All have a HD TV, Each room has a private bathroom, a small desk and free Wi-Fi. The best rooms offer a direct view of the Theatre of Fontainebleau and beyond to the roofs of the Château.
Le Bacchus: bistro, wine bar and terrace
This is the Richelieu's other advantage. Visit Bacchus is a real bistro restaurant with a menu of traditional, home-cooked food, a selection of wines from different regions of France and a wide range of wines. terrace which, in summer, overlooks the street and the theatre. The atmosphere is warm, the vintage-industrial decor is an extension of the hotel, and it's a place that Bellifontains also frequent, not just hotel guests. You can dine here, enjoy an aperitif or simply have a drink at the end of the day.
In the heart of the historic city
Rue Richelieu is a small street perpendicular to the rue de France, the main shopping street in Fontainebleau. The centre's restaurants, shops and cafés are just a two-minute walk away. The Château is a five-minute walk away. For those arriving by car, the public parking is free in the vicinity between 7pm and 9am, which covers the night.
