Just 300 metres from Fontainebleau-Avon station and on the edge of the forest, the ibis budget is the most convenient place to stay if you arrive by train. You set down your suitcases, and the forest literally begins on the other side of avenue Franklin Roosevelt.
Who is it for?
This is the obvious address for travellers who want a clean bed, free parking and a rate that doesn't hurt. The rooms were renovated in 2019 and are air-conditioned, compact but functional. Some have bunk beds, These are ideal for families or groups of friends. Perfect for one or two nights, whether you want to visit the Château (3 km away, 5 minutes by car or bus), climb the boulders in the forest, or simply stop off between Paris and the south.
What you need to know
Le car park is closed and free of charge, A real plus in the area. Wi-Fi works throughout the hotel. The buffet breakfast is served in the dining room or on the terrace, weather permitting. For late arrivals, the hotel operates an access code system (remember to note your code before you arrive).
Good to know: there's a Carrefour 200 metres away if you need to do some shopping in the evening.
How to get to the centre of Fontainebleau
From the hotel, take the bus line 3401 at the station next door (direction Les Lilas, “Château” stop). By car, the city centre is 5 minutes away.
