Fontyblog now has its own podcast.
And for this first episode, we've tackled something that, on the face of it, wouldn't be described as exciting: the minutes of the town council meeting.
It's actually a lot more interesting than you might think.
From the outset, Fontyblog has pursued a dual objective.
On the one hand, to promote Fontainebleau well beyond the town itself, in French, English and German, for all visitors preparing their stay.
On the other hand, and just as important, we want to be useful to the people of Bellifont themselves: to find out what's going on near you, to spot an event that's coming up, a shop that's opening, a decision that concerns us all.
For this second mission, the podcast was an obvious choice. You can listen to it while you're walking, cooking, or even looking for a parking space, a subject on which Fontyblog has already said it all in its dossier on parking in Fontainebleau.
And then there are those subjects which, on paper, aren't the sexiest, but which really deserve a closer look. The town council is one of them.
The five-minute version of the Town Council
The city is fully committed to transparency: every council meeting is filmed and posted on YouTube. This is an excellent thing.
It's also two and a half hours of video, and not everyone has a whole afternoon to devote to it.
Hence the idea for this first episode. The meeting of 18 May had thirty-one items on the agenda: the Town Council never does things by halves.
We've chosen six. Six decisions that have a real impact on the lives of the people of Bellifont, from the conservatory to the cobblestones of the town, told in five minutes and change.
Let's be clear: Fontyblog has no connection whatsoever with the Town Hall. It's simply a Bellifontain's view of what's being decided for our town.

Not everyone wants to listen. Some prefer to read, to see, to browse at a glance.
For them, the six decisions are also summarised in an infographic, which can be found just below.

This is just the beginning
This is the first episode.
It won't be the last.
And as always, Fontyblog is moving forward with you. A shop opening, an event in the pipeline, a local initiative that deserves a spotlight? We'd love to hear about it.
Enjoy your listening, and see you soon.
