A bike for the station, for grown-up children, or for the woods: the bicycle market from the Fontainebleau region is moving to André Poirier Sports Hall in Bourron-Marlottethe Saturday 10 October, from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm and the Sunday 11 October, from 1 pm to 6 pm.
From second-hand bikes refurbished and spare parts, but also some free co-repair workshops to learn how to look after your bike yourself: adjusting the brakes, changing an inner tube, fitting a new chain. The sort of know-how that stops you from leaving your bike at the back of the garage because of a puncture.
The market is driven by the Pays de Fontainebleau Urban Community, with the Nemours Bicycle Shop and the Gâtinais Recycling Centre, two organisations that give bicycles a new lease of life rather than letting them end up at the recycling centre.
Bourron-Marlotte is a quarter of an hour from Fontainebleau, whether by car or by train. And on the way back, there’s nothing to stop you cycling home.
