Presentation of the 2026–2027 cultural season at the Fontainebleau Municipal Theatre

It is the event that sets the tone for the cultural year in Bellifonte. The Friday 11 September 2026, the Municipal Theatre opens its doors to present the 2026–2027 season, and he does it his own way: through music, even before the audience has entered the hall.

An evening that begins on the pavement

From 18h30, the Conservatoire’s Wind Orchestra and the Union Musicale de Fontainebleau welcome the audience on the forecourt, Rue Denecourt. Doors open at 19h. This is followed by a mini-concert by Mélie Fraisse, a violinist, singer-songwriter and singer, who is embarking on a three-year residence permit at the Theatre. A long-running residency is rare for a venue of this size, and it means we’ll be seeing her regularly throughout the season. The programme presentation will follow, followed by a drinks reception.

What’s in store for the public between now and July

The season counts 28 shows, from 3 October 2026 to 2 July 2027. It gets off to a flying start with Michaël Hirsch in «Y’a de la joie» on 3 October, followed by «Les Collectionnistes» on 10 October and the brass-filled «Brass & Bleau» weekend on 17 and 18 October. This will be followed by *The Magic Flute* performed by the Opéra 2001 company, the Jazz au Théâtre festival organised by the Django Reinhardt Association in late November, and the traditional New Year’s Eve show.

Why this event is worth the trip

The Municipal Theatre is an Italian-style auditorium dating from 1912, one of the prettiest in the Île-de-France region, and there aren’t that many opportunities to visit it for free. It’s also a chance to ask the team any questions you may have, understand the thinking behind the programme, and pick up a brochure before the best seats for the most popular shows are snapped up.
