Pink October 2026 in Fontainebleau: awareness day, charity walk and run (10 October)

Le Saturday 10 October, Fontainebleau is dedicating a whole day to Pink October, the national breast cancer awareness campaign. The aim is to raise awareness of screening by combining sport, prevention and collective creativity, in an atmosphere that is intended to be light-hearted rather than serious.

The day’s programme

• From 9.30 am : A fitness event featuring Nordic walking and gentle activities focused on wellbeing; advance booking required.
• From 1.30 pm : a sporting event and the traditional charity walk and run, starting from the Martinel Sports Centre.
• From 10 am to 5 pm : prevention stands with the League against cancer, Fontainebleau Hospital, the Jeune & Rose charity and the ‘kiné des seins’ network, along with a refreshment stall and charity sales organised by the CCAS and young people from Fontainebleau.
• A solidarity mural carried out at the Martinel Sports Centre, which will then be installed in the oncology department at Fontainebleau Hospital, and then, from 2 pm, a second mural painted directly onto a public space, Place Napoléon.

Why it matters

Breast cancer remains the most common form of cancer amongst women in France, and the earlier it is detected, the greater the chances of recovery. From the age of 50, a mammogram is recommended at least every two years. A day like this serves, first and foremost, as a reminder of this, whilst out for a run.

Take part

For running and walking, participation takes the form of a donation paid directly to the Cancer League : €5 for adults, €2 for children and students. Registration (Fitness Event, run and walk, mural) can be done via the Pink October page in the calendar of the Town of Fontainebleau. Come dressed in pink, of course.
