Autumn is the season that determines the success of next year’s vegetable garden. The Saturday 10 October, from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm, a natural gardening workshop is held at the Fontainebleau Allotment Gardens, as part of the ‘Fontainebleau en Transition’ initiative.
Two very practical topics: Preparing your vegetable garden for winter, and build a resilient vegetable garden, along with practical solutions to help it cope better with drought, excess water and cold spells. Mulching, ground cover, compost: you’ll leave with practical tips you can put into practice as early as the following weekend.
The event is hosted by Grinn Permaculture, in partnership with Allotments and the association Compost and Us. Gardeners who get their hands dirty all year round, so they can offer tried-and-tested advice on the local sandy soil, which has its own specific requirements.
