One family, four generations of artists, and a theme that resonates with everyone in Bellifontaine: the forest. From 17 to 24 October, the the Gérat family present at the Companions’ House the group exhibition «Forests and families, from the roots to the treetops».
It contains paintingsand collagesand postersand ceramicsand photographsand sculptures and poems. The title plays on the metaphor of the family tree, and that is precisely the point: to see how a single perspective on the forest is passed down, distorted and reinvented from one generation to the next.
After the summer the mountains have just been through, an exhibition centred on the forest is not quite like any other. Roots and treetops: it’s about what endures and what grows back.
Opening on Saturday 17 October from 5.00 pm. Exhibition open every day from 3 pm to 7 pm, free admission. Maison des Compagnons, 26 Rue de la Cloche.
