Until 12 September 2026, the Kelly Arty Gallery, at 8 Rue des Pins, is staging an exhibition on Berthet One. The artist wears many hats: comic-book author, painter, sculptor and a leading figure in contemporary urban art.
The first thing that strikes you about Berthet One is the colours. Vivid and uncompromising, they bring to life a world nourished by pop culture and humour, where images we think we know are turned on their head to convey a different meaning. Each piece tells a story and reinterprets the symbols of our time, with that blend of apparent light-heartedness and universal message that has captivated collectors far beyond France.
Kelly Arty is one of those places in Bellifonte that you often stumble upon by chance as you head up towards the Pins neighbourhood. Booking an artist of this calibre for the whole summer – for nearly two and a half months – is quite a generous undertaking: it gives you time to pop in, come back, and bring someone along.
The exhibition runs from 2 July to 12 September. As the opening hours are not published online, it is best to check with the gallery before making the trip.
