Located at 29 bis Franklin Roosevelt Avenue, situated on Avon’s main street, Au Rocher d’Avon is a business that combines several culinary specialities. The Fontainebleau region’s tourist office describes it as a chocolate shop and bakery and states that All our products are homemade.
Three spaces under one roof
The shop, which has expanded over time, is organised into a chocolate section, a bread section and a cake section. As for the bakery, the traditional and speciality breads are made on the premises, alongside the daily bread. On the sweet side, the range includes cakes and pastries. The selection is therefore wide-ranging, covering bread, pastries, chocolate and confectionery – which is rare for a single neighbourhood shop.
Chocolates, macarons and homemade specialities
It is the confectionery section that really sets the shop apart: fruit jellies, macaroons and chocolates in all shapes and sizes, from bars to orange-flavoured sticks. Two creations bear the brand’s name: the chocolate speciality named The Little Corporal and the little biscuits Crocq’Amour. The shop also accepts cake orders For birthdays, weddings and other celebrations: it’s a place to order from as well as to pop into.
