To round off the summer, the Grand Parquet hosts one of the biggest equestrian events of the year. From 28 August to 6 September 2026, the Fontainebleau Grand Week brings together nearly 1,850 horses aged between 2 and 7 years covering breeding, show jumping and hunter style.
The event takes place in two distinct periods, and it’s worth knowing this before planning a visit. The Free Cycle kicks off the 28–30 August : three days dedicated to young horses aged 4 to 6, in a more relaxed atmosphere, where you’ll find just as many breeders who have come to watch their horses race as riders getting up to speed. The Classical Cycle takes over from the 1–6 September : this is where the championship titles for each age group are awarded, following several years of selection.
It’s an event that the equine sector is the event everyone looks forward to all year round. Around ten days of competitions and demonstrations, showcasing the next generation of French sport horses on the Grand Parquet arenas.
Between events, the atmosphere is as much that of a top-level competition as it is of a huge family reunion for the equestrian world. Free admission. The detailed programme is published on the Grand Parquet equestrian calendar and on the official website of the SHF Grand Week.
