Le 4 July 2026, Fontainebleau Castle is hosting an evening in the spirit of Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI. See you at the English garden at dusk, with a blanket under your arm, for an al fresco picnic followed by a fancy dress ball.

Throughout the evening, a series of activities will take place:

  • one an introduction to 18th-century dances alongside 40 dancers in costume
  • some boat trips on the Carp Pond, from 7.30 pm to 10 pm, subject to availability
  • some workshops led by actors
  • one garden lighting at nightfall

Everyone brings a picnic (there will be a takeaway stall on site), and you can come along dressed in 18th-century costume or with a simple accessory, such as a feather, a hat or a mask. The event is open to all and accessible to people with reduced mobility, from 7.30 pm to midnight (last accessed at 10 pm).

As for prices: 20 €, free for children under 7, tickets available online only on the Fontainebleau Castle site. Please bring a thick sheet to sit on; tables and chairs are not permitted.
