The Esquisse Hôtel Culturel in Barbizon continues its superb programme of musical events with a piano aperitif evening the Friday 17 April 2026. Keyboard controls : Armand Frydman, a pianist and composer with a singular career path.
Trained in classical piano with’Yvonne Loriod and from Colette Zerha At the École Normale de Musique de Paris, Armand Frydman went on to explore film composition alongside Pierre Janssen, He also wrote the scores for the films of Claude Chabrol. His career has taken him from the Musical Research Group (GRM) to the collaboration with the Czech violinist Joseph Suk and the Bolshoi Orchestra for the album Atlas.
More recently, his album Meditations (2024), written entirely for piano and cello with the cellist Agnès Vesterman, demonstrates an ever-renewed sensitivity. A versatile artist who moves across genres with insatiable curiosity, from classical music to jazz and world music.
Nestled in the Grande Rue de Barbizon, L’Esquisse regularly hosts intimate concerts in a setting steeped in artistic history. The ‘apéro piano’ – a convivial event that has become the venue’s signature feature – offers the chance to discover artists in a warm and welcoming atmosphere where music and the art of living come together.
