The Esquisse Hôtel Culturel in Barbizon is hosting the Friday 24 April 2026 a concert by classical music with the cellist Marion Frère and the pianist Théo Penven. A duo of young talents who are making their mark on the French chamber music scene.
Marion Frère studied cello with Marc Coppey at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), after studying at the Toulon and Lyon conservatoires and at the Haute École de Musique in Lausanne with François Salque. She is currently studying for an artist’s diploma at the École Normale de Musique de Paris in the class of’Henri Demarquette.
Théo Penven, a prodigious pianist who began training at the age of four, shares a musical rapport with Marion Frère that is evident in their performances of the cello and piano sonata repertoire. Together, they explore the great works of the classical repertoire with a freshness and intensity that have already captivated Parisian audiences, notably at the Salle Cortot.
L’Esquisse offers the ideal setting for chamber music: an intimate venue, warm acoustics and the unique atmosphere of the artists’ village. An evening not to be missed for lovers of beautiful music and up-and-coming young talent.
