Presentation

Visit 93 rue Grande, in the courtyard on the right, Fontainebleau is not just an urban art gallery: it’s also a workshop where you can get your hands dirty with paint. A every other Saturday, the venue sets out the tables and equipment, and gets things underway three appointments on the same day, from the morning for children to the late afternoon for adults.

At 10 am, the children pop round to the ‘bombe’

From 10.00 am to 12.00 pm, the Ages 7 to 13 discover urban art techniques with an artist: stencils, lettering, Posca pens and water-based spray paints. Each session has its own theme, from a workshop dedicated to Keith Haring at a Graffiti Academy where you write your first name in urban style. A maximum of twelve children, free afternoon tea, and everyone goes home with their own creation. €25 per child, by booking only.

2.00 pm: stencils for creating your own décor

From 2.00 pm to 3.45 pm, it’s over to the adults – and families, as children over the age of 7 are welcome when accompanied by an adult. You choose your surface – cardboard or an object – learn the stencil technique, then cut out, position and spray paint. Maximum of twelve people, with free coffee or soft drinks, €25 to €35 depending on the format, including a €10 deposit upon booking.

4.00 pm: Design your own T-shirt or tote bag

From 4.00 pm to 5.45 pm, we transform an item of clothing or an accessory into a one-of-a-kind piece: T-shirt, tote bag, clutch bag, cap, gym bag. The The fitting is carried out on site, so you’ll be able to take your creation home with you on the same day. €20 to €50 depending on the format, plus a €10 deposit upon booking.

The three time slots must be booked separately via the Fontaineblow’s creative workshops page, and places are limited. Whether it’s for a birthday, a group event or a team-building exercise, you can arrange it directly with the gallery. And as everything takes place indoors, it’s also a good answer to the question of What to do in Fontainebleau when it’s raining.
