A get-together for golfers from Bellifontaine, the Fontainebleau Town Cup takes place on Friday 25 September 2026 along the route of the Golf de Fontainebleau. The competition is called Philippe Mahut Trophy, the same name as the town’s stadium.
We play in Simple Stableford, with a Women’s series and one Men’s series. The betting handicap is limited to 35, which opens up the competition to a large proportion of registered players, rather than restricting it solely to those with low handicaps. The Stableford system has the advantage of being forgiving if you have a bad hole: points are counted, not strokes, and a poor shot won’t ruin your score.
Fontainebleau Golf Club is one of the most beautiful woodland courses in the Île-de-France region: fairways winding their way between pine trees and heather, on the sandy soil of the massif. Even those who play there all year round never tire of it, and late September is often one of the best times of year to walk the course.
