Every year at the end of June, the Park of the Château de Fontainebleau is transformed into an open-air temple to jazz. Visit Django Reinhardt Festival returns for his 46th edition, the 25 to 28 June 2026, on the Prairie du Bois d'Hyver. Born in 1983 at Samois-sur-Seine, The festival moved from the village where the legendary Gypsy guitarist settled in 1951 to the grounds of the Château in 2016 after floods submerged the Ile du Berceau. Since then, the festival has gone from strength to strength in this royal setting, attracting enthusiasts from all over the world every year.
The 2026 edition hits hard, with a line-up that goes well beyond the boundaries of gypsy jazz. Asaf Avidan, back on stage with his unmistakable sound, will be headlining on Friday. Cory Wong, a funky guitar virtuoso acclaimed by international critics, takes over on Saturday. On Sunday, it's Pack, the Hamburg-based techno band that has been electrifying crowds since 2015, who will bring the festival to a climactic close. Opening on Thursday, the Thee Sacred Souls will be bringing their magnetic soul from San Diego.
In terms of gypsy jazz and world music, the programme features both the new generation and the masters of the genre: Roberto Fonseca & Vincent Segal, José James, Youn Sun Nah, Fanou Torracinta & Hugo Guezbar (rising stars of gypsy jazz), Olli Soikkeli Quintet with Stochelo Rosenberg and Paulus Schäfer, Mozes Rosenberg Trio, Thibault Cauvin, Las Migas, Aurore Voilqué and its Balkan Ladies Connexion, or Saha Gnawa and Die Drahtzieher. In total, more than 25 artists and groups over four days.
The festival is spread over four full days, each with its own musical colour. The concerts run from the afternoon until late into the night, in an atmosphere that combines the conviviality of a festival on a human scale with the majesty of the Bellifont setting. The Prairie du Bois d'Hyver, nestling in the grounds of the Château, offers an exceptional green setting in which to enjoy outdoor music.
There are several options to choose from: 1-day pass from €40, 2-day pass from €70, 4-day pass from €135 (Early Django rates). For a privileged experience, the Privilege Pass (from €220 for the day) gives access to the VIP village with cocktail reception and panoramic terrace facing the stage.
