Golf de Fontainebleau
Inaugurated in 1909, the Golf de Fontainebleau is one of France's oldest and most prestigious golf courses. Regularly ranked as one of Europe's finest courses, it offers an exceptional golfing experience in the heart of the Fontainebleau forest, just 800 metres from the town center and within easy reach of the famous château.
An exceptional course
This 18 holes par 72 extends over 6,030 metres and is a real adventure between rocks, heather, broom and bunkers. Originally laid out by Julien Chantepie, redesigned in 1920 by the famous architect Tom Simpson and modified in 1963 by Fred Hawtree, it is located on the former imperial hunting grounds.
The course is distinguished by its relatively narrow fairways, lined with trees of various species (pine, birch, cherry, beech and hundred-year-old oak) and defended by over 100 fine sand bunkers. Its sandy terrain guarantees optimal playing conditions, whatever the weather.
