Le Thursday 12 November at 8.00 pmthe cinéma l'Ermitage projects 15/18, the new film by Cédric Kahn, and extends the sitting with a debate on the adolescents’ mental health.
Lucia was 17 when the police took her to a child and adolescent psychiatric unit in a public hospital. There she meets Éloïse, her friend, who has been in hospital for months, and a handful of other young people from very different backgrounds. Surrounding them are healthcare staff who listen, treat patients and meet with parents, in a ward that operates constantly at full capacity. Until the day Enzo arrives – a boy whom no one can quite figure out – and threatens to turn everything upside down.
Here we see the perspective of Cédric Kahn, director of Prayer and The Goldman trial, who enjoys filming behind-the-scenes footage and communities under strain.
Following the screening, three speakers with first-hand knowledge of this field will engage in a discussion with the audience: Marianne Goguet, from the association COLINA, Marc Bordier, an advanced practice nurse, and Eva Smith, a clinical psychologist at the Fontainebleau Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre. A rare opportunity to hear, beyond the realm of fiction, what young people and families here actually experience.
Tickets can be booked at the ticket office or on the website for the discussion sessions at the L’Ermitage cinema. You can also find the the L’Ermitage cinema page on Fontyblog.
A few words are enough, I reply personally.
