Le cinéma l’Ermitage welcomes the’preview from «Which brings us to you», the first feature film by Khalil Cherti, followed by a discussion with the director and members of the Fontainebleau Health Prevention Centre. A discussion session on a subject that cinema rarely tackles head-on.
Charlie and Hicham, both in their thirties, are madly in love, but they can’t have a baby. The film follows their assisted reproductive technology (ART) programme during three years, between hopes and disappointments, from a couple’s perspective: how the ordeal affects the body, desire and intimacy, but also ties with family and loved ones. Two characters whose profession is speaking and listening, and who must nevertheless learn to understand one another in a different way in order to build something that transcends them.
The couple are played by Nina Meurisse, César Award 2025 for Best Supporting Actress for *L’Histoire de Souleymane*, and Sofian Khammes, alongside Maria de Medeiros, Younès Boucif and Jeanne Balibar. Having made a name for himself with short films selected at Clermont-Ferrand and Locarno, Khalil Cherti has directed a debut feature that has already won awards: Value of the screenplay and Student values at the 2026 Angoulême Francophone Film Festival.
The presence of the Health Prevention Centre adds a valuable dimension to the evening: a chance to ask questions, share feelings or simply listen, whilst respecting everyone.
