A listed building, exceptionally open doors

The Tourist Office is offering you an exceptional guided tour of a place that is usually closed to the public: the Théâtre Municipal de Fontainebleau, built between 1910 and 1912 and listed as a historic monument. This is a rare opportunity to see one of the most beautiful halls in the Paris region from the inside.

Unique Louis XIII architecture

Designed by the architects Fernand Lucas and Paul Marion, the theatre has a style Louis XIII with trompe-l'œil painted domes and one sumptuous golden stage frame. The hall has 650 seats and was inaugurated on 9 March 1912. The architectural details and finishes will remind you that Fontainebleau was a major cultural town in the early 20th century.

Rates and timetables

24€ per person, from 12 years old. Two sessions on offer : 2pm and 4pm on 12 May 2026. Groups can be formed on the spot if you can't find enough people of your own. Allow around 2 hours for the full tour.

This is the kind of event that really helps you understand the cultural history of Fontainebleau and appreciate the local architectural heritage.
