The imperial city is hosting an exceptional literary event. Charlotte Casiraghi will be Théâtre Municipal de Fontainebleau on Wednesday 25 March 2026 at 8pm to present his first book, The crack, published in January 2026 by Julliard.
A philosophy graduate from the Sorbonne and founder of the Rencontres philosophiques de Monaco, Charlotte Casiraghi has written a book that is neither a treatise, nor a narrative, nor a confession, but rather a journey. In it, she explores the notion of the crack through the works of writers such as Ingeborg Bachmann, Colette and Marguerite Duras, by the poet Anna Akhmatova, browser Bernard Moitessier or the musician J.J. Cale. The common thread: something in us is broken, and so much the better.
The meeting will be hosted by Robert Maggiori, a philosopher and literary critic, with whom Charlotte Casiraghi has already co-written Archipelago of passions (Seuil, 2018). The evening will continue with a signing session.
This meeting is part of the Encounters at the Fontainebleau Book Festival, The first edition of the show was held in September 2025 at the Théâtre Municipal. Next event in the series: a meeting with Michel Pastoureau, on Wednesday 15 April at 8pm.
Rate Price: €4. Registration required on the Fontainebleau Book Festival website.
