Le Sunday 13 September 2026, the Place Napoléon Bonaparte, which is usually car-free, is, for once, hosting around forty Classic Minis. This is the sixth edition of the Fontainebleau Rally, organised by the association Esprit Mini Team, and it’s one of those events where people come as much for the cars as for the people who own them.
Forty vehicles, not one more, all registered between 1959 and 2000. This restriction is by no means trivial: it excludes BMW’s modern Minis and includes only the direct descendants of Alec Issigonis’s original car. Amongst them are Coopers, Clubmans and Countryman estate cars, often restored by their owners, some of which are in remarkably good condition.
Meet in the morning at 9h at the square, coffee and a briefing, then The tourist rally starts at 10.00 am, road book in hand, across the region. The crews then return for a afternoon exhibition, up to 6.00 pm. Entertainment and catering will be available on site.
For the public, it’s free : we wander amongst the cars, chatting to the owners, who are usually delighted that we’re interested in their cars. To take part with your Mini, you can register at open pricing On HelloAsso, one registration counts as one car. By mid-August, the line-up was not yet complete, you’d best get there early if you want to be part of it. The morning slot is the best time if you want to see the full line-up before the start.
