Galerie Les Effets Secondaires, based in Descartes in the Indre-et-Loire region, is presenting a unique travelling exhibition: «Autistes-Artistes», highlighting 20 works by autistic artists. In partnership with Réseautisme 37, The aim of the exhibition is to showcase the creative talents of people with autism and to raise public awareness of the issue.
Autism is often seen solely in terms of deficits. This exhibition proposes the opposite: to show how a neurodiversity brings a fresh and often unique perspective to our society. Autistic artists offer perspectives that neurotypical brains don't necessarily grasp.
Galerie Les Effets Secondaires has designed this exhibition with neurosensory accessibility in mind: sensory markings, adjustable lighting, quiet sensory areas. This is rare and precious. It means that people with autism, people with hypersensitivity, can visit in a specially adapted environment.
Every day, free of charge, the 2 to 22 March 2026 at the Gymnase de la Vallée in Avon. Check the exact timetable with Avon town council. A great opportunity to get off the beaten track and discover a creativity that is often hidden.
