The Friday 2 and Saturday 3 October, the Charité Royale Media Library, 15 Rue Royale, is organising its book fair. A dynamic media library is one that curates its collections: the collections are constantly being updated, and items removed from the shelves go home with readers rather than being pulped.
Novels, documentaries, picture books, comic books: there’s plenty to keep both members of the household entertained. The prices are deliberately kept very low, which means you can walk away with a stack of books you wouldn’t have bought in a bookshop. It’s also a good time to give an author a go whom you’d never dare to try at full price.
A bit of practical advice: bring a sturdy shopping bag, and turn up fairly early. The best finds at a library clearance sale are snapped up within the first hour.
