Bread is the food item most commonly thrown away in France, and it’s often simply a matter of it having been in the bin for two days too long. The Tuesday 22 September, from 5.30 pm to 7 pm, the cookery workshop «Special anti-waste scheme for stale bread» suggests tackling the issue from the right angle: that of revenue.

A chef from Bellifontaine at the stove

The workshop is organised by the association Compost and Us and hosted by Émilie, head chef at At Elemiah in Fontainebleau. An hour and a half to learn some easy and delicious recipes made from stale bread, the sort of recipe you’d actually make again at home rather than just jotting down and forgetting about.

Please note: an apron and several food containers, as we take home whatever we’ve prepared.

Getting there

Free, up to a limit of eight seats reserved for residents of Bellifontaine. Registration is compulsory via email to [email protected], stating your town of residence.

The workshop is being organised as part of the partnership between Fontainebleau in Transition, Compost and Us and the Local Social Action Centre.
