Until 5 September 2026, the’Matis Institute, at 17 Rue de France, hosts Between the nut and the flight, the exhibition by Vincent Mulet. Paintings, sculptures and drawings are all on display there, and Admission is free.
«Between the nut and taking flight»: on the one hand, the piece of metal, the constraint, that which tightens and secures; on the other, movement, lightness, escape. Vincent Mulet’s entire body of work is rooted in this tension, and the transition from painting to sculpture allows him to explore it on two levels: the two-dimensional and the three-dimensional.”.
The highlight of this exhibition is its free and its duration : It’s been on display for over three months, right in the centre of Fontainebleau, on Rue de France. You can pop in on a whim whilst running errands, or make a proper visit of it. If you’ve got friends visiting this summer and are looking for something other than the château, this is definitely worth a visit.
