Three evenings, five shows, a park, and not a penny to spend. From Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August 2026the Open-Air Theatre settles in the Bois-le-Roi Town Hall Park. It is free, no booking required, and it’s probably the best way to round off the summer round here.
The programme is designed so that families can spend the whole weekend there: a show for young audiences on Sunday afternoon, musical theatre, and a true star of French comedy on Saturday evening with Alévêque. The 8.30 pm show on Saturday draws a big crowd, so it’s best to arrive early if you want a good seat.
The town hall park is a quarter of an hour’s drive from Fontainebleau, and Bois-le-Roi station is served by the R line. Remember to bring something to sit on comfortably and a light jumper: at the end of August, the evenings cool down quickly once the sun has set.
The detailed programme is available on the the Bois-le-Roi Open-Air Theatre page.
