Every spring, the Republic Square changes its look for a weekend and becomes a large ephemeral garden. It's the place to be for Naturiales, organised by the Town of Fontainebleau, and this will be the 2026 version of the Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May.
The spirit is simple: to bring together the pleasure of strolling and the desire to take action. We come for the flower market and garden accessories, we're staying with the gourmet corner, the entertainment for families, the nature workshops, the bike parade and the large eco-village where exhibitors and associations talk about ecological transition without lecturing.
The 2026 edition promises to be just like Fontainebleau - a town where the forest is never far away and where the ecological transition is lived out in a concrete, positive and shared way. Les Naturiales is also the perfect opportunity to take home a plant you couldn't find in a garden centre, some advice from a local landscaper, or simply a Sunday in the sunshine in the town centre without having to choose between a stroll and an aperitif.
The event takes place in right in the heart of Fontainebleau, Just a stone's throw from the Château and the Halles market. This is one of the weekends of the year when the Place de la République is pedestrianised and taken over by exhibitors and locals - so why not combine it with a Fontainebleau cheese tasting at the nearby Tourist Office, or with European Museum Night at the Château on Saturday evening.
