La Course des Filles & Garçons de Café is a very French tradition dating back to 1914, which was born in the streets of Paris. The principle: waiters and waitresses run around in their work clothes, tray loaded at arm's length, They have to cover a route as quickly as possible without spilling their load. Glasses, cups, bottles - everything has to stay in place! It's a show that's both sporty and funny, where skill counts as much as speed.
Long associated with the grand avenues of Paris, this emblematic race has gradually been exported to provincial towns. For this 2026 edition, is the’UCAIF (Union des Commerçants et Artisans Indépendants de Fontainebleau), which is organising the event in the heart of the town, with a departure planned for the end of October. place de l'Étape.
Catering professionals from the Fontainebleau area - waiters, waitresses and restaurant staff from cafés, bars, restaurants and hotels - compete against each other on a course where speed, agility and balance are the watchwords. A race open to spectators: come and cheer on your favourite waiters!
The winning establishments will also be featured on UCAIF's social networks.
The race is reserved for professionals hotels, restaurants and bars in Fontainebleau. Participation is free of charge, registration required before 5 April via the registration form for the Course des Garçons de Café 2026.
