With over 350,000 visitors a year, the Grand Parquet is one of Fontainebleau's most dynamic venues. The reason I wanted to present it to you today is that it's much more than just an equestrian center: it's a major events venue, hosting international competitions, corporate seminars, trade shows and cultural events all year round.

Once the hunting ground of the kings of France, the Grand Parquet has been transformed into a world-renowned equestrian center. Its history is studded with prestigious moments, such as hosting the modern pentathlon events at the 1924 Olympic Games. Today, it continues this tradition of excellence by being selected as a Preparation Center for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Impressive installations

The Grand Parquet offers facilities that live up to its reputation:

  • A 12,000 m² main pitch with bleachers seating 1,125.
  • 237 fixed stalls spread over 9,200 m² of floor space
  • A 10,000 m² exhibitor village with room for 150 exhibitors
  • 6 meeting rooms, including a 200 m² plenary room

With a capacity of 10,000 people on its 30 hectares, the site receives over 350,000 visitors a year for 107 days of events.

The schedule for the Grand Parquet promises to be a rich one for early 2025:

  • Cani Trophy: January 25-26, 2025
  • Concours Complet Militaire: March 8-10, 2025
  • Brocante du Printemps: March 23 and 24, 2025

How to get there

Le Grand Parquet is located at RD 152 - Route d'Orléans, 77300 Fontainebleau.

By car :

  • From Paris: A6 towards Lyon, exit 12 Fontainebleau
  • Free parking for 1000 cars

By public transport :

  • Train from Paris-Gare de Lyon to Fontainebleau-Avon (40 minutes)
  • Bus line 1 from the station, "Grand Parquet" stop

From the airport :

  • Orly: 40 km (45 minutes by car)
  • Charles de Gaulle: 80 km (1h15 by car)
