As a local with a passion for my city, I can't keep my best addresses to myself, I MUST share them with you.
You'll find some of them on this page.
Please note that a complete guide is in the works, and I'll share it with you here as soon as I've finished it!
In the meantime, to help you make the most of your evening in Fontainebleau, here are a few restaurants, bars and atmospheres to give you an idea of the city's nightlife.
This charming pedestrian street is packed with excellent restaurants. La Petite ArdoiseThe restaurant, for example, is a safe bet: refined bistro cuisine that's always fresh and tasty. A big hit with my travelers! (I should mention that my studios are just a 1-minute walk away, so it really is the best value for money to get there!)
Right across the street, Le Bistrot 9 seduces us with its generous home-cooked dishes, a restaurant we regularly visit for family occasions.
Also a must.
Generally speaking, you can't go wrong on Rue Montebello.
If you are looking for a more intimate and unique experience, I recommend Viva Vinoa restaurant-cave specializing in live wines. With just 5 tables, it's the perfect place to share fresh dishes in a warm atmosphere. Note that David and Elodie speak English (and Elodie German too). The Axelis the city's Michelin star, offering refined gastronomic cuisine combining French tradition and Japanese influences. Finally, to complete the picture of "specialties", Casa Azul offers Tex-Mex street food with subtle and surprising flavors.
First of all, you should know that this street is perpendicular to rue Montebello... So a plan is already taking shape for the evening, isn't it?
The Glasgowa Scottish pub not to be missed, is renowned for its live concerts on Thursday evenings. Caution: avoid if you're looking for a quiet evening.
Just a few meters away, Le Triptik offers a modern, relaxed atmosphere, ideal for afterwork or a musical evening.
I also like it a lot, l'EnclaveThe Bonaparte, down the street, has a long-standing reputation for its warm welcome.
A little further on, on rue de la Corne (well, far is relative, it's a 2-minute walk), dance fans will be seduced by Le Mojito Club with its salsa classes and unique Caribbean ambience.
For a drink in a surprising setting, discover Le Swing Bar (63 rue Grande). This little-known cultural café, although its porch overlooks Rue Grande, with its somewhat ramshackle inner courtyard - as Fontainebleau backyards often are - is shaded in summer by lime trees, and perfect for an evening out with friends. Jazz concerts are frequent, see their program.
On his side, La Demeure du Parc (36 rue Paul Séramy) a calm, chic setting, welcomes you to its elegant garden.
Ideal for sipping a cocktail under the stars.
And if you don't fancy a variety of places to eat and drink, the terraces of the place Napoléon Bonaparte should make your day: sit back and enjoy the view of the illuminated carousel from start to finish.
